Welcome to Wakool, a small town located in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. While it may be a quiet country town, Wakool is home to a variety of seasonal fun and exciting events that are not to be missed. Here are some of our favorite events that take place throughout the year:
Wakool Sheep Races - Held annually in August, the Wakool Sheep Races is a unique event that attracts visitors from all over. The event takes place at the Wakool Hotel and involves sheep racing down a track. The races are divided into heats, with the winner of each heat going onto the final. There are also other activities such as market stalls, live music, and a barbecue.
Wakool Fishing Competition - Love fishing? Then you won't want to miss the Wakool Fishing Competition held annually in October. The competition takes place at the Wakool River and is open to all ages. Prizes are awarded for the biggest catch, the most catches, and the youngest angler.
Wakool Garden Expo - The Wakool Garden Expo is a two-day event held annually in September. The event takes place at the Wakool School and features stalls selling plants, gardening tools, and other related items. There are also talks and demonstrations on topics such as composting, worm farming, and garden design.
Wakool Country Fair - The Wakool Country Fair is a family-friendly event held annually in November. The fair takes place at the Wakool Hotel and features stalls selling food, crafts, and other items. There are also activities for kids, such as face painting, a jumping castle, and a petting zoo.
Wakool Rodeo - The Wakool Rodeo is a popular annual event held in February. The rodeo takes place at the Wakool Sports Ground and features bull riding, barrel racing, and other rodeo events. There are also food stalls, live music, and other activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Wakool Market Day - The Wakool Market Day is held on the first Saturday of each month. The market takes place at the Wakool School and features stalls selling locally produced goods such as fresh produce, handmade crafts, and baked goods.
